The following problems look at quadratics which are written in vertex form written as

y=a(x-h)² + k

Solve the axis of symmetry of this quadratic in vertex form.  Remember that the axis of symmetry is a vertical line which must always be written as an equation x=

Solve the vertex of this quadratic in vertex form.  As long as you remember your rule with (h,k) being the vertex, this form is much easier to solve the vertex than standard form.

Solve the y-intercept of this quadratic in vertex form.  Remember that the y-intercept is the coordinate where x=0.  You might be tempted to solve this in the same way you would solve the y-intercept when a quadratic is written in standard form by knowing that it is the “c” value added on, however that won’t work in vertex form.
